Itinerary of our How to travel Paris on Easter 2020 Trip
09:30 Arrive at the hotel. As we are arriving early morning check-in won’t be possible. The stop will be to quickly drop our luggage
10:30 Arrive in Paris city center
Welcome to the heart of Paris as we disembark close to Pont Neuf, one of the most picturesque stone bridges in the city. You are free to begin your own exploration of Paris or join your guide and walk to the famous Notre Dame cathedral.
11:45 Optional Boat Cruise
You have the option to go on a boat cruise to see Paris from the impressive Seine river. Learn more about the history of the city during this cruise while getting to know famous monuments and landmarks that might inspire you to pay a visit after the cruise. For convenience, you can reserve your ticket in advance or if you need some time to consider, you can buy the tickets from our guide during the bus ride to Paris.
12:45 Free Time To Explore The City
The beauty of springtime Paris is best seen on foot. During Easter, you will find chocolatiers displaying artistic chocolate bunnies and colorful candy eggs, bakeries selling delicious cakes and pastries that look like works of art, and in many cathedrals, you will come across religious services and special concerts as the locals welcome this meaningful holiday.
You can spend your free time roaming the different districts or strolling along the banks of the Seine river. For art buffs, you should tour the Louvre or Musée d’Orsay for famous paintings. Fashion lovers can shop in the upscale 1st arrondissement where luxury boutiques are housed at, or visit the magnificent departmental stores at Boulevard Haussmann, where the Paris Opera is also located!
There are many beautiful parks and squares in Paris which are perfect for a springtime picnic with your new friends, or you can enjoy a casual lunch in a local bistro alongside the Parisians!
Explore more hidden gems for the rest of the day, like visit the Catacombs of Paris or discover the flea market at Porte de Vanves. You can relax in the evening over some wine with friends, or consider joining a pub crawl to see more of Paris at night while having fun with your travel mates.
20:00 Optional Activity: Nightlife & Pub Crawl
Soak in the vibrant vibe of Paris’ nightlife and go on a pub crawl. Experience the city at night, which is gloriously illuminated, and check out some of the hottest party spots in town! Gain VIP entry to cool bars and hip clubs, and get free shots at every new location. You can let loose and party the night away, as well as make new friends with the locals and ex-pats.
You can also visit museums, enjoy the parks and gardens found across the city, or venture forth to the 18th arrondissement to visit the charming Montmartre and climb up the hill to the basilica of Sacré-Cœur for an amazing vista of the city.
08:00 Excursion to Versailles
After checking out of the hotel, it is time to conquer another day of sight-seeing in Paris. As a group, we will venture out of the city center and head towards the Palace of Versailles. As one of the most famous palaces in the world, this excursion is bound to impress you. See the majestic royal residence of Louis XIV, discover the dramatic history surrounding this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and walk around the ravishing garden, lined with manicured bushes and grand fountains. IMPORTANT: Only people that are 26 and older and Non-European residents (no residence permit) need a ticket. For others it is free!!!
12:00 Return to Paris
Upon returning to Paris, you will have time for more discovery of the city. You can see the Eiffel tower in the day as well as stroll around the area under the tower. For an incredible panorama, go up the tower for a view you will never forget.
From Trocadero, you have some more free time to explore other parts of Paris. Walk to the Champs-Élysées, visit more museums or get lost in the quaint Latin Quarter. You can also make your way to one of the most charming districts in Paris, the 18th arrondissement. During the Belle Époque, many artists lived and worked in the Montmartre area. The artistic atmosphere still lingers on today, through the quaint shops, tiny streets and old architecture that remains from more than a hundred years ago. Climb up the steps leading to the basilica of Sacré-Cœur, seated at the top of the hill. Here you will be treated to an amazing vista of Paris, perfect for snapping gorgeous pictures to share on Instagram.
