In Bruges, everywhere you turn is a picture perfect spot, so make sure your camera and mobile phones are fully charged to capture the beauty of the old town. With 3 hours for sightseeing, you can visit the medieval bell tower that stands at the market square, go for a tour at Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan, a family-run brewery, or hop on a highly recommended boat cruise with the new friends you just made on the trip to see Bruges from its canals.
If you have no plans in mind, then take it easy and simply go where you fancy. Head into side streets or enter an old cathedral for a look because the best way to enjoy Bruges is to wander and get lost.
12:00 Depart from Bruges
We will continue the tour at noon and head for the awe-inspiring Atomium before arriving in Brussels city center. During the bus ride, you can take a nap and rest up for the next pit stop, or share with your new friends what you have just seen and done in Bruges.
14:00 Depart for Brussels
The capital city is just 30 minutes away, so get ready to start exploring Brussels.
From the royal palace to the most beautiful square in Europe, there is so much to see and do in Brussels. One of the sites you must visit is the Grand Place, also known as Grote Markt. Surrounded by opulent, historical buildings, you will be astounded by the sheer grandiose that surrounds you. Near the town hall situated at this square, you can also find the famous statue of Manneken Pis.
To understand how French architecture has influenced Brussels, go by the Palais Royal and for a moment, feel as if you have suddenly arrived in Paris. Brussels also has its fair share of contemporary architecture, such as the European Parliament, that would inspire modern design aficionados.
After visiting the major sites, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city by spending some time at the botanical garden or have a picnic with your new friends at one of the many parks that could be found around the city. Notably the Cinquantenaire is a scenic park that is worth seeing.
But if you like some actions, then you would be pleased to know that the city centre of Brussels is always lively. Here you can try some Belgian delicacies such as waffles, chocolate, mussels, fries and beer. With 9 hours in Brussels, you will have time to also visit one or two museums of your choice. Art lovers should not miss out on the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. For comic book fans, the Belgian Comic Strip Center will be a treat to visit.
With an enviable beer culture, your visit to Brussels will not be complete without trying the local brews. Since the tour only ends at 23:30, you will have plenty of time and many ways to quench your thirst in the city.
After trying some local Belgian dishes for dinner, why not go on a beer tasting experience with your fellow travel mates or visit a Belgian beer bar to spend the evening together?
