Day 2, 21 May
08:15 Arrive at Lake Bled
Kickstart your morning with a short walk to Lake Bled from the drop-off point of your tour bus. Once you arrive at this phenomenal lake, you will be captivated by the scenery all around you. Get your smartphone and camera ready to take stunning photos to share on your Instagram and Facebook accounts!
You can stroll along the lake, which will take around half an hour to complete a full round. As you explore the area, you will notice the mythical Bled island floating in the middle of the lake, thick with trees all around, and a cathedral rises up towards the sky. To get to the Bled island, you can get on board a traditional boat and sail towards it or rent a rowboat with your travel mates and try rowing towards the island yourselves. Once you arrive at the island, take a short walk up the rocky path and visit the church with a bell tower. Legend has it that if you ring the church bell, your dreams will come true, so why not join the line and give that a try?
10:45 Depart from Lake Bled
Bid farewell to the picturesque Lake Bled and be on your way to the bustling capital city of Croatia, Zagreb.
14:15 Arrive in Zagreb
Zagreb is a cultural gem full of history and old-world charm. It is known as the “City of Museums”, and is also an up-and-coming foodie destination. Upon arrival in the city, check in to your hostel and after settling down, gather with your travel mates to explore the city.
Stroll by the medieval St Mark’s Church or go inside the remarkable 12th-century neoclassical Cathedral of Zagreb for a tour. Have your pick of museums to visit and do not miss the interesting Museum of Broken Relationships, one of the most popular museums in Zagreb. The Upper Town is a picture-worthy area to explore, with numerous landmarks, noteworthy monuments, beautiful old buildings, and historic squares.
For a quick bite and to experience the Croatians’ love for good food, pop by the Dolac, the most popular farmers’ market in the city. You can find homemade snacks and traditional specialties for sale along with flowers, fruits, and laces!
Art-enthusiasts will be keen to explore the Croatian Museum of Naïve Art as well as the stately Mimara Museum, which houses a wide range of artworks from all around Europe. To admire the stunning panorama of Zagreb, consider taking the funicular at Tomić Street to the viewing platform or head over to the impressive Zagreb 360°observation deck. If you are a nature-lover, there are many green spaces all around the city where you can relax and enjoy a picnic with your travel companions. Try visiting the idyllic Botanical Garden or go for a walk in the Maksimir Park.
If you are interested in shopping, pop by Ilica street. One of the best souvenirs to purchase in Zagreb is brandy, which comes in a variety of flavours like plum, walnut and pear. As the evening draws close, consider visiting a local restaurant to savour some mouthwatering traditional food. Look out for Cuspajz, a hearty homemade stew, or the healthy Knedli sweet potato dumplings. For those with a sweet tooth, you will like Štrukli, a dessert made with sour cream, dough and cottage cheese. As Croatia is located close to the Adriatic sea, seafood is also common in Zagreb. From fresh oysters to octopus salad and grilled fish, you are in for a delicious treat!
20:00 Free time in the evening
You can explore more of Zagreb on your own in the evening or gather with your travel crew at the Chillout Hostel Bar, where you can play drinking games, take part in karaoke singing and get to meet other travellers.
08:15 Get ready to depart for the Plitvice Lakes National Park
Grab a quick early breakfast and then make your way to the meeting point to get on the bus to the Plitvice Lakes National Park.
11:50 Arrive at the Plitvice Lakes National Park

Optional Activity: Boat Ride
Begin your visit with a panoramic train ride that will lead you towards the scenic Upper Lakes. One of the best ways to experience the Plitvice Lakes is to combine your exploration with a boat ride. Get onboard the boat and sail across the magical Lake Kozjak. Be sure to stroll through the Lower Lakes canyon, where you can snap some mind-blowing photos of the aquamarine lake district, and head towards the famous Great Waterfall. After combing through the east side of the canyon, you can get a ride on the panoramic train once more, and this will ensure you fully explore the national park.
17:00 Depart the Plitvice Lakes National Park
After an extraordinary day in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, it is time to head back to Zagreb.
19:50 Arrive back in Zagreb
As you arrive in Zagreb, it is time to rest up a little and enjoy a scrumptious dinner with your travel mates.

On this bar crawl, you have access to unlimited drinks at the first bar location, and at each following bar, you will get free welcome shots. Day 4, 23 May
08:50 Depart for Ljubljana
Start your day with a quick breakfast and hop on the bus to make your way towards the enchanting Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia.
12:30 Arrive at Ljubljana

14:00 Optional Activity: Guided Tour
Instead of heading off on your own, do consider joining your travel group on this informative guided tour through the heart of Ljubljana, where you will be taking in all the major sites and highlights of the city. Hear all about the myths and history of Ljubljana, tour the majestic Church of St Nicholas, cross the iconic Triple Bridge, see the ancient medieval castle standing alone on the hill, and take photos of all the charming squares and interesting monuments along the way.
17:00 Optional Activity: Scenic Boat Ride
After the guided tour comes to an end, you can pause for a break at a local cafe or enjoy a cold beer with your friends at a bar. Then see another side of Ljubljana, this time from the water. Ljubljana is known as the Green Capital of Europe in 2016. On this boat cruise, you can sail down the quiet canal and experience the serenity of this quaint city. Discover the contrast between the old and new architecture that is scattered all around and at the same time compare the city’s ancient past with its modern present.
17:45 End of Boat Tour
At the end of the boat tour, you can further explore Ljubljana at your own pace. For some dinner ideas, why not share a meat and cheese platter with your travel companions? Karst Prosciutto is one of the most famous cured meats in the country. Another must-try dish is the Carniolan sausage, a typical Slovenian meat dish.
Slovenian food is also influenced by Italian cuisine, so it is common to find pasta and risotto all around the city. If you crave traditional snacks, try the flakey and buttery Burek with sour cherries and yogurt. Slovenia is also renowned for being a wine-producing region, so for a thirst-quencher, sample some local wines!
