From the royal palace to the most beautiful square in Europe, there is so much to see and do in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. One of the sites you must visit is the Grand Place, also known as Grote Markt. Surrounded by opulent, historical buildings, you will be astounded by the sheer grandiose all around you.
During Christmas, you will find a large Christmas market set up here. Known as the Winter Wonder, this market extends all the way to the Place de la Bourse, with many stalls offering artisanal craft items, souvenirs and delicious seasonal snacks. Take your time to stroll through this grand, festive Christmas market and revel in the holiday atmosphere!
To understand how French architecture has influenced Brussels, go by the Palais Royal and for a moment, feel as if you have suddenly arrived in Paris. Brussels also has its fair share of contemporary architecture, such as the European Parliament, that would inspire modern design enthusiasts.
With the free time, you have in Brussels, any not also visit one or two museums of your choice after touring the Christmas market? Art lovers should not miss out on the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. For comic book aficionado, the Belgian Comic Strip Center will be a treat to visit. The MOOF museum will delight fans of Tin-Tin, The Smurfs, and Asterix and Obelix!
Besides the Christmas market, you can also find Belgian delicacies such as waffles, chocolate, mussels, fries and beer in shops and restaurants. With an enviable beer culture, your visit to Brussels will not be complete without trying the local brews. You can consider joining your travel mates to visit a local bar for some Belgium beers or tour a brewery. If you are a foodie, the hearty Belgian dishes will certainly appeal to your taste buds. Seek out an authentic restaurant to savor traditional dishes like Carbonade Flamande, Stoemp, and Waterzooi!

Don’t hesitate to wander into side streets or enter an old cathedral for a look because the best way to enjoy Bruges is to walk around and get lost.
