We believe it is now time to travel sustainably.
We are committed to conserving our environment, protecting our community and saving our planet.
WANDERLUST TRIPS Sustainable is an initiative for us to put words into actions.
As travellers, we LOVE being in nature. We have had the privilege of visiting the most beautiful places on Earth, and we certainly hope one day our kids will be able to see these beautiful places themselves. Unfortunately our environment is facing the greatest existential challenge it has ever met. One of the biggest and most pressing issues that needs to be solved is the use of plastic. While travelling brings with it so many life-inspiring moments, it also means extra consumption, extra waste and thus, extra plastic.
Currently, over 5 TRILLION pieces of plastic litter the ocean, and we want to help #theoceancleanup.
To offset the contribution of plastic waste in the environment, we are donating 2€ of every ticket booked on our trips in 2019 to THE OCEAN CLEAN UP, and hopefully make a positive impact in saving our home, planet Earth.
THERE ARE CURRENTLY MORE THAN 5 TRILLION PIECES OF PLASTIC LITTERED IN THE OCEAN.
Trash is rapidly accumulating in 5 ocean garbage patches around the world. The largest afflicted region is located in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, found between Hawaii and California. If the plastic pieces are left to circulate, they will negatively and irreversibly impact our ecosystems, personal health and the global economy. To solve this problem, we need to close off the source of pollution, and clean up the trash that has been building up in the ocean.
Travelling generates carbon footprint. We feel it’s increasingly important to provide our travellers and members of our team with the necessary tools and important information to help each individual make responsible and sustainable travel choices.
If you would like to offset your carbon footprint for an upcoming or previous tour, we have identified some leading carbon offset programs:Atmosfair.
These schemes will provide you with ways to reduce or even offset your carbon footprint, as you play a part in conserving the environment.
